Chemotherapy Waste Removal and Disposal
|
Depending upon the type of chemotherapy waste generated, recent Florida regulations stipulate that this waste stream can now be treated as either a hazardous waste or a medical waste. Items containing chemotherapy waste which are RCRA empty can be disposed of as a medical waste and treated within an approved autoclave sterilization
system, or other approved disposal method.
Items containing non-RCRA empty quantities of chemotherapy waste should be treated as a hazardous waste and collected in an approved hazardous waste container for transportation and disposal by a registered hazardous waste management company.
Allsafe Medical, Inc. manages both potential waste stream methods and we work with each client to customize a program which meets the regulations at the most economical comprehensive plan. Allsafe Medical Inc’s Safety Division also offers training on the proper handling and storage of both medical and hazardous waste streams. |
